Our trip leader, Sheri Butler has been really busy a few months making this the most phenomenal trip to Davos Switzerland in Four Winds history.
We are very excited that 38 club members are going on this trip. Sheri and several Four Winds board members have been working with Snow Tours Worldwide Ski Vacation (our travel agency) recommended by CMSC, to get flights, hotel arrangements, ski & board rentals, buses, tour guides for excursions to Lucerne Switerland, St. Moritz Switzerland, Liechenstein Valuz and Zurich Switzerland.
Below is the schedule of our week of events and points of interest.
Saturday March 23rd: Leave O'Hare International Airport evening
Sunday March 24th: Arrival in Zurich, take 2 hour bus ride South East through the countryside to Davos. Upon arrival at Club Hotel Davos , a Meet & Greet social event sponsored by the hotel.
Monday March 25th: Excursion to Lucerne Switzerland. Points of interest scheduled: Lions Garden, Glacier Garden, Old City tour, Free time to walk shop, visit museum and a must - Kappel bridge, then back to Davos for a buffet of yummy Swiss food.
Tuesday March 26th: Ski / Ride on the slopes at Jacob Horn for those that wish take the challenge, closest ski area by hotel in Davos. Non-skiers will have their own time to venture out, swim, sauna etc.
Wednesday March 27th: Excursion to Liechtenstein, Valuz. First stop Werdenberg (smallest city in Switzerland). Next stop Vaduz city tour with guide. Train ride, them free time for shopping, museum etc.
Thursday March 28th: Ski / Ride on the slopes at Jacob Horn for those that wish take the challenge, closest ski area by hotel in Davos. Non-skiers will have their own time to venture out, swim, sauna etc.
Friday March 29th: Excursion to St. Moritz Switzerland. Scenic bus ride through the countryside. Stops include St. Moritz Lake, and Gorge of Maloya Pass. Skiers can then ski at Corviglia, or take the city tour with others. Lunchtime / Free time for shipping, walking around city.
Saturday March 30th: Excursion to Zurich Switzerland. Bus will take us to the largest waterfall in Europe - Rhine Falls (about 2 hour drive from hotel) Next stop, Stein am Rhein - a small town known for its medieval architecture. Then off to a guided tour of sights of Zurich: Paradeplatz, Fraumunster Church, Thermengasse, St. Peter's Church, Grossmunster, Historical Guild Houses, Lindenhof, Pass the house where Lenin once lived, Chocolate area, shopping Bahnhofstrasse. Free time, Swiss National Museum, walking city.
Sunday March 31st: Fly back to Chicago on two separate flights.
Davos to be Price: $1,695 (Based on double occupancy and paying by check)
Optional Excursions (Private bus for the club but does not include a tour)
