The EPIC Pass continues to be one of the most popular multi-resort passes available. Its comes in many flavors, depending on where you plan on skiing, and EPIC now covers a few places in the midwest like Wilmot (in IL) and Afton Alps (MN) as well as some resorts that are not owned by Vail Resorts.

The IKON pass continues to be the biggest rival to the EPIC pass. It comes in 2 flavors, depending on your skiing needs, and covers over 20 major resorts spread throughout the US and even a few overseas.

The Mountain Collective pass covers many of the same locations as the IKON pass, but its more restrictive that it only allows a few days at each resort (but its cheaper than the IKON pass).

In Colorado, fifth graders get three kids ski free days at each of 20 participating resorts, including Copper Mountain and Steamboat. Plus, there’s no processing fee. Sixth graders are also eligible for $125, which entitles them to FOUR free days at each participating resort.

For a $20 processing fee, fourth and fifth graders can ski free at 30 ski resorts in Michigan (three passes per resort), courtesy of the Cold Is Cool Ski & Ride Passport Program. Participating resorts include Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands. A paying adult must accompany the passport holder. Pick up an application at a Michigan Snowsports Industries Association ski shop, or apply online.

Utah has 15 ski resorts, and fifth and sixth grade kids ski free at all of them after a $45 processing fee is paid. The promotion includes three free passes per resort for fifth graders, and one free pass per resort for sixth graders, as well as discounts on snowboard rentals, lessons, refreshments and more!
