Even 2020 Couldn’t Stop This TERROR
Get spooked! Enjoy the horror of a late-night drive through the woods. Not your traditional haunted house… it’s a haunted road through the scariest woods in northern Illinois. Scenes of gore and horror will thrill you to your bones.
H.H. Holmes, the very first serial killer in the United States, may have met his end in 1896 after terrorizing the Chicago area. However, that doesn’t mean his spirit rests. Halloween legend has it that Holmes has returned to his favorite burial spot in Elgin, ironically the site of Big Timber Campground, where his victims still remain. You can now drive through the Terror in the Timbers in Illinois…but be forewarned that Holmes’ spirit may be lurking in the shadows.
Think you're safe behind a piece of glass and some metal? Think again. The dead have taken over the once innocent Big Timber Campgrounds and are coming for the living...one car at a time.
This one-of-a-kind Halloween experience allows you to simply put your car in park, sit back and let the Terror begin.
There is a "horror lite" version of the haunt available. Just tell the ticket taker and they will set you up.
Drive through scare service begins at 6:00 p.m. and will run until Midnight. Timed tickets for your carload available. Think you’re up for it? Book your tickets now and see for yourself.
Camp Big Timber: Three Fires Council, BSA, 37W955 Big Timber Rd, Elgin, IL 60124, USA
YOUR NIGHT OF DRIVE-THRU SCREAMS IS GOING TO BE SCARY ENOUGH.
DON'T RISK GETTING LOST TRYING TO FIND US ALONG THE WAY!
You can find Terror in the Timbers on the Camp Big Timber grounds located at 37W955 Big Timber Rd, Elgin, IL 60124.
The grounds are located southwest of I-90 and Randall road. Travel south on Randall Road before going west on Big Timber Road.
How Does Terror in the Timbers Work?
During this unprecedented time in the World, the promoters of Terror in the Timbers would like to share with you our plans to entertain you and your family this October.
2020 has offered enough cancellations and uncertainty so the promoters of Terror in the Timbers came up with an alternative to standing in packed queue lines where Social Distancing will be nearly impossible to enforce. Not interested in wandering aimlessly through a Haunted House where you will come in direct contact with who knows what or who? Terror in the Timbers wants to put your mind at ease while entertaining you and your family & friends so we came up with a safe and fun alternative. Welcome to Terror in the Timbers.
It’s simple, you purchase the appropriate ticket based on your vehicle size for the available time slot that fits your plans. You purchase a standard ticket for a carload of no more than 4 individuals.
Upon your arrival at our event, you will be required to produce
1. A valid ticket.
2. A valid driver’s license
Guests will never have to leave the safety of the vehicle.
First, you will turn off your headlights and tune your radio to a predetermined station.
Next, you will proceed down a marked path to the first of many horrific stops. NEVER exceeding 5 miles per hour.
When you enter the scene, a red light will signal the driver who will then be required to put the car in park.
Then take a deep breath and leave the rest to our demented Minions of Terror.
General Admission is set for cars and small SUVs with a maximum capacity of 4 passengers (all must have a seatbelt).
Tickets include all Terror in the Timbers Drive-Thru stops and begin at 6 pm.
$65 per car*
