Unfortunately, weather hasn't been cooperating here in Illinois, and with only a few runs open, we are cancelling this trip. Please check out the cascade daytrip on the 22nd. 

Please join fellow 4-winders at Chestnut Mountain (weather permitting - since this is so early season, please check on resort trail conditions ahead of time) to kick off the local ski/ride season on Saturday, Dec 7th. Chestnut is in Galena, IL, about a 2hr 15 min drive from the NW Suburbs. 

This is an informal Daytrip/Meetup, so all club members will be responsible for their own transportation, lift tickets, and (if needed) rentals. There is no trip waiver to sign for this trip. 

Lift tickets at Chestnut are $20 through Dec 13th.  There is a nice lodge at the top of the hill which has a cafeteria, brown-bagging, and bar area. 

Chestnut is an "upside down" resort, meaning the lodge is at the top of the hill and you ski/ride down towards the Mississippi. 

There is also a hotel at the top, if you wish to stay overnight, and the resort is about 15 minutes from downtown Galena, which is picturesque touristy area with lots of restaurants and places to stay.
