Geneva Christmas Walk

On Friday, December 2nd the Geneva Holiday Lights Walking Tour was held.  I had no idea what to expect so as I headed to Geneva with my car full of friends to meet up with many others attending I figured it would be a rather small event with a handful of shops being open and a tree lighting being one of the highlights.  Well I was quite shocked to see the amount of people and vehicles.  Fortunately there was plenty of parking and with the convenience of texting we quickly linked up everyone.

There is a large tree in the center of Geneva that was lit at 6pm with plenty of people surrounding the tree during the lighting.  All the shops were of course open and free cookies, hot chocolate, chestnuts being provided that were roasting on an open fire, singing, and so much more to do.  We just had a great time getting the free items and purchasing some chocolate and other items at various stores but next time we plan to get there earlier and hopefully have more time to enjoy the festivities and now we know what to expect.

Upon leaving we also decided to see the Larsen house which we told was something to behold.  It is about a 15 minute drive from Geneva so it was in the area.  I had never seen signs on the side of the road indicating directions to someone’s house so I had a feeling it might be something special.  It certainly was quite a house.  I had also never seen so many lights on a house, about 500,000 lights, and parking for rows of cars to watch the lights display.  You tune into a station on your radio and watch as the lights dance to the music that is playing.  It was truly amazing.  I am providing a couple of photos of the Geneva Walking Tour and of the Larsen House for your enjoyment.  Thank you Phil Skultety for bring this event to our attention, great time!
