Richardson's Corn maze
October 22nd, 2016
Categories: Past Event Summary
On Saturday October 22nd a nice group of members and friends went to the Richardson’s Corn Maze in Spring Grove, Illinois. The corn maze was setup as a tribute to Star Trek’s 50th year so the head of Mr. Spoke and Captain Kirk as well the Star Ship Enterprise were portrayed in the maze.
You are provided with a punch card with a map of the corn maze to help find your way around. There are 24 map locations to find and you receive a punch at each location. I was told by someone at the ski show that once you have all 24 punches that you would receive a free cinnamon donut and apple cider. We were driven by that and found all 24 locations in about an hour and 40 minutes. Upon exiting the corn maze to our disappointment we discovered that we received a certificate for having gone where no man has gone before. Well of course we had to get some donuts and apple cider after that and they were delicious.
Richardson’s also has a tower where you can look over the corn maze or even buy pumpkins to drop off the tower to smash them. There was also a fire pit to sit around and enjoy. In addition there were pig races, bouncy houses, hay rides, and plenty of items to purchase including hot apple cider, cinnamon donuts, fudge, kettle corn, pumpkins, and plenty more to keep everyone busy. It was a great time and hopefully you can join with us next year.
