Four Winds Spring Banquet

On Sunday, May 8, 2023, Four Winds had our annual spring banquet. This year the banquet was held at the Norge Clubhouse located in Fox River Grove. The clubhouse had a full kitchen with plenty of seating. There were plenty of tables and chairs provided. We had around 30 people in attendance. The attendees were asked to bring a dish to share and pay a small amount to help defray the cost of the rental of the clubhouse.
There certainly was plenty of food with potato, fruit, and other types of salads as well as fried and orange chicken, plenty of desserts and plenty of water and soda for all. We also had a table of memorabilia that many club members brought to showcase past events or items from Four Winds and Oak Park as the clubs merged several years ago. Items showcased included an old Snow Times issue from Oak Park, flyers from Oak Park and Four Winds, club racing pins from Oak Park, shirts from the Four Winds, and a giant teddy bear with a Four Winds shirt as well as the Four Winds banner. In addition, an iPad was brought in by Pat M. which provided plenty of pictures of past events.
A casino event was also held where everyone received the same number of chips to start, and then various people played blackjack or roulette. A craps table was also available. Others played Family Feud and various true/false games. At the end of the various games, it was determined who had done best by the number of chips they had accumulated, and prizes were awarded.
It was a warm summer day for springtime but with the air conditioning running everyone decided to stay in the comfort of the clubhouse and enjoy plenty of food, conversation, and game playing. The event which lasted four hours was over before you knew it.
It was a great day and event and awesome seeing everyone. Thank you to all who helped put it together…especially Sheri and Gregg for planning the event, obtaining the location, and putting it all together and of course to everyone who attended to make it a wonderful banquet.
