Boyne Bus Trip
Many thanks to our fearless leader Phil S who planned and executed a fun weekend trip to Boyne March 10-12th! Not only was this a great opportunity to ski Boyne and Boyne Highlands but participants of this trip were a blend of Four Winds members, American Blind Skiing Foundation and Adaptive Abilities skiers/boarders and guides so many new friendships were forged.
Conditions at the hill were great with plenty of snow and the sun shining. Saturday after a day at Boyne Highlands taking in the scenic views of the lake from the slopes it was all hands on deck for preparation of a yummy spaghetti dinner followed by some games and general shenanigans in anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day.
With a shorter day on the ski hill Sunday we headed over to Boyne for first tracks. A couple of us walked across the new expansion bridge over the ski hill and most of us tried out the Disciples 8 high speed chairlift to maximize our laps before departing for the lodge at 2 and then home.
Fortunately, as this was a bus trip, we were rested and ready for the week ahead by the time we got back to Schaumburg at 9:30pm that night. Nothing beats two solid days on the slopes, making new friends and a good rest before work and school on Monday morning! Thanks, again, Phil!
