It is awesome that you are a member of a fantastic winter sports and social club. Did you know that your club’s board selects the thrilling spots for our winter and summer trips, plus they plan all of our crazy fun social events? Yep, the secret is now out. One of the advantages of being on the board is if there is an activity you want to do, the board will try to schedule it as a club activity. It’s great to be a member but even better if you can be on the board. It’s fun planning, fun running and fun participating.
Please consider volunteering for one of the following positions. If interested in any position let any current board member know.
Board Descriptions:
President
The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Corporation and shall in general supervise and control all the business and affairs of the Corporation. S/he shall preside at all meetings of the membership and board. The President shall ensure the coordination of efforts among elected officers and appointed committee chairs. If no Committee chairs are selected s/he shall preside over committee business. The President shall be an Ex-officio member of all standing committees. The President may sign, with the Executive Secretary or the Treasurer, any deeds, mortgages, contracts, checks or other instruments which the Board of Directors has authorized to be executed. The President in general shall perform all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Vice President
In the absence of the President at a meeting, the Vice President shall act in their stead. The Vice President shall oversee the preparation and implementation of the club’s financial budget as approved by the Board, the preparation and filing of the federal and state income tax returns and information statements and ensure that the club’s insurance premiums are current and paid. In the event that the President’s office is vacated, or in the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall assume the duties of the office of President, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Executive Secretary
The Executive Secretary shall notify the Board of board meetings, record minutes of Board meetings and general meetings, and distribute copies of minutes to Board members. The Executive Secretary shall also oversee the counting of ballots, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for all collections, receipts, deposits and disbursements of the general funds of the organization. S/he shall be responsible for the maintenance of all books, accounts and records. The Treasurer shall submit an oral report to the Board, shall have a written account available at meetings, and shall submit a written account and report at the end of his or her term as of April 30. The Treasurer shall also submit reports at such other times as the President may request. The books kept by the Treasurer shall be available for annual accounting as requested by the Board, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Lodge President
The Lodge President shall be the principal executive officer of the O.P.S.C. Lodge Corporation (hereafter referred to as the Lodge), shall supervise and control all the business and affairs of the Lodge, shall report Lodge goings on to the Board, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Trip Director and Committee
Responsible for the planning and conducting of trips sanctioned by the organization. This Committee will plan trips to meet the needs of the majority of Club members; and shall give equal priority to all members over non-members in the determining of reservations, accommodations and charges. This committee chair shall also coordinate racing and other recreational sports programs, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Membership Director and Committee
The Membership committee shall be responsible for obtaining new members and dissemination of pertinent Club information to prospective members. It shall be the chairperson’s responsibility to maintain all data, statistics files and records applicable to membership, including the Club Directory, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Social Director and Committee
The Social Committee shall be responsible for the initiation and execution of all social functions, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Communications Director and Committee
The Communications Committee shall be responsible for communicating club information to current and perspective members. Sub-committees such as Public Relations and social media may be coordinated through this committee. S/he shall be responsible for the website coordination and Newsletter, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
Sargent at Arms
The Sargent at Arms shall have the responsibility of maintaining order at all club functions, and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
