It was a beautiful day for a bike ride!  Temperatures were in 70's.  The six-Four Winder's; Bobbi M., Ron & Kathleen H., Russ & Sheri B. and Gregg S. sign up for the bike ride along the beautiful Fox River in East Dundee IL.  

Everyone arrived at 10:00 AM at The Village Squire restaurant just a short distance from the trail.   We peddled south on the trail towards Elgin.   Gregg showed everyone some points of interest along the way including Walton's Island just below the Elgin river dam.   Scenic pictures were taken by the metal American flag flying proudly.  Then we rode our bikes down to the grounds of Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino in downtown Elgin which was a total of 6 miles from East Dundee.    We could of went further, but a few other Four Winder's were meeting us for lunch & social back in West Dundee on the outside patio at the Village Squire at 12 noon.  

We had a little time to spare and our biking group wanted to continue pedaling,  so Gregg led the way up north along the river to Carpentersville Main Street bridge.   Gregg also pointed out some other local interesting spots along the way.   We then crossed the C'ville bridge by the historical factory, Otto Engineering which is on the National Historic Registry.    Then Gregg led everyone back along the scenic West Dundee Riverwalk to meet the others for lunch at noon.

Once getting our bikes loaded back on our cars, we met other Four Winder's; Jan R., Beth O., Patricia M. and Kathy M. outside under the canopy at the favorite restaurant; Village Squire for lunch and social.   There was a solo singer playing his guitar as we ate some yummy food.   Everyone was able to practice social distancing at three tables.  We all enjoyed time together.  It was a FUN summer day for Four Winds.   

We plan on having more fun bike rides in the autumn, so keep an eye open for future postings.
