At the next chance, let’s hear it for Sheri Butler -

This past weekend, March 6th - 8th, she did such a fab job organizing the Drive-Up Ski Trip through Michigan to the four-story Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse Bay, followed by group-skiing next day at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, that words almost fail your writer.  He’ll have to ramble on for a bit and then he’ll be okay.  But driving to Crystal for memorable skiing and challenging parallel turns was a 34 mile trip each way giving us city-slickers the chance to see rural areas still snow covered, awaiting spring planting.

Back at the hotel, Sheri, with the help of friends Sheri and Sherie, made sure we had our “club” breakfasts cooked or otherwise created by our own “room service” personnel, meaning of course, the Sheris 3. The three squares daily weren’t all breakfast fare: some dined at Crystal Mtn. cafeteria; also enjoyable were pizza pies organized on the hotel second floor, table 3, with windows overlooking the humid indoor green garden play-center known to children and parents alike as Water Park.  Sheri  had a number of helpers each day, starting with Sheri & Sherie, and probably others too numerous to mention, so we won’t, but plenty of grateful diners alighting on free food and breakfast coffee.

Sheri had gained additional experience by organizing last year’s  2019 Spring See and Ski trip to Davos, Switzerland.  The tour was 5 days long (plus 2 more days SwissAir flight there and back).  Members had a choice of skiing each day only, or tour bus visits of 5 towns only (“excursions”}, or any such combination.  Sheri’s devotion to detail certainly helped the success of that trip, as well as husband Russ’s help and expertise gained as Four Winds club prez.  I was one of those who took the trip who was really satisfied with the results.
