On the weekend of March 6th to March 8th an energetic group of adventurers from Four Winds headed to Great Wolf Lodge for some skiing at Crystal Mountain on Saturday and to hit the water park at Great Wolf on Sunday. We had 16 people in total in 3 condo units and a separate nearby hotel. Those on the trip included our trip leader, Sheri, yours truly (Russ), Diane, Natalie, Kaley, Gregg, Tony, Guy, Bob, Julie, Sherie, Sarah, Frank, Pat, Kathy, and Dave.
The skiing was typical spring skiing as the snow began to break down as the day progressed due to the warmer conditions. It was in the mid-40s on Saturday. There were plenty of beads being provided by the resort as they were having their winter carnival. Unfortunately, we ended up all missing the various games since we were skiing but we could see that many people had dressed up for the occasion. It was a good day from all accounts although I knocked over a pair of ski poles that were upright in the snow near a lift line and Sheri nearly knocked over a ski rack. You can ask us for details at an upcoming event or meeting if you like.
Sheri provided everyone with goodie bags for the trip filled with chocolates, fruit snacks, beads, and even a green bow tie for the festivities. She also provided plenty of food for breakfast including bagels, scrambled eggs, pancakes, cereal, coffee cake, and plenty of milk, and orange juice. A big thanks to Sheri and her friend with the same name but different spelling (Sherie) and Sarah for bringing and preparing the wonderful breakfast. On Saturday evening most of us had pizza from a local eatery, Jets, and those who did not have pizza had chicken wings.
On Sunday most of us hit the water park. The temperatures were going to be in the 50s on Sunday so the skiing conditions would break down even further and since Great Wolf is a water park one might as well take advantage.
It was a great trip and a special thanks to Sheri for making sure that everyone had plenty to eat, plenty to keep themselves busy and of course it goes without saying…but I’ll say it anyway … plenty of fun.
Thanks again to all especially Sheri and looking forward to our next adventure with Four Winds.
