Geneva Bike Ride and Wine Fest in review

September 8, 2019  - Four Winds Geneva Bike Ride / Festival of the Vine in Review

Four Winder's bike riders; Kathleen, Ron, Kristie, Rick, Sandy (Kathleen's friend) and Gregg met at 10:30 am in parking lot of Mill Race Cyclery in Geneva.   Reasonably comfortable temperatures with a little drizzle in the air wasn't going to stop Four Winds from cancelling the days events.   We started our bike tour down the east side of the Fox River.   The bike trail had some of the prettiest scenes overlooking the river leading into several landscaped parks.   One of our first stops along the way for a photo opportunity was at the majestic Fabyan Dutch Windmill in North Batavia.    We continued our biking down to North Aurora dam park where event leader Kathleen provided peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for all.  Ron investigated if there was a trail on the west side that headed back north, and there was.   So we all decided to venture that way back about 6 miles towards Geneva.   Our total ride was 13 miles round trip, a pleasantly nice ride for everyone.

Once back to Geneva,  we rode our bikes through town to Festival of the Vine.   There we met with fellow Four Winder's; Sheri and Russ.   Several of us checked out the fine arts and crafts show before heading over to festival area get some mouth-watering Geneva's specialties Flavor Fare of Good Food, taste the wines and listen to some great music.

Four Winds enjoyed an early fall bike ride on the beautiful Fox River Trail in Geneva.   Thank you to Kathleen H. for organizing the clubs day events.

If anyone is looking for a nice ride, check out the Fox River Trail in Geneva, its a beautifully landscaped ride for all to enjoy.

Four Winds is looking forward to seeing and riding with you in the spring of 2020!
