The tubing weekend festivities started off on International Beer day and the Potosi Brewery did not disappoint. They had a rocking band playing that night and we were entertained by our newfound friends Leroy and Susan who were an 80 year old couple and did their own Dirty Dancing show. 

On Saturday the sun was out and it was warm and we started on the river at 11 a.m. The coolers were full of both refreshments and food and we are off on our three hour tour. In tow were Kathleen and myself, Beth and Gregg, Phil and Ben, and Walter and Margaret. 

The river was cool and felt good on a hot day as we meandered down the river laughing all the way. 

Once ashore again, we were back to the hotel to clean up for dinner. Went to the Twisted Vines restaurant for their prime rib dinner. This is such a popular night at the restaurant and all that were left were medium cooked choices so we opted for other menu items. That night we were also entertain by another live band where we danced and sang the rest of the night. 

Sunday we are up and off to Galena Illinois which was on the way home. Another beautiful day to walk the centuries-old streets of Galena in and out of shops and looking for that bargain. Phil and Ben decided to visit the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, IA and managed to get a bike ride in from Galena to Chestnut Mt. What a beautiful ride on such a nice day. 

Once we've had enough by mid-afternoon we waved goodbye to Galena and heading down the road to our dinner destination at Cajun Jacks in Elizabeth Illinois. The owner is a good old Cajun boy from Louisiana where he opened his first restaurant and brought his delicacies to Northern Illinois. We all enjoyed some type of seafood and all those fantastic. What an ending to a great weekend.
