Prez Says
Hi All,
Can it really be April? Well in actuality as I write this it is still early March but due to timing constraints my April Presidential article is being written early.
The ABSF Copper trip has completed with plenty of snow and a great time for all. A couple of injuries were reported but hopefully everyone will be fine in no time. The CMSC trip to Aspen was also a wonderful time. Those that went had plenty to do, lots of parties, and lots of skiing. They hope to do it again perhaps even next year.
Our final trip of the season is quickly approaching. This is the trip to Davos, Switzerland. Sheri has been very busy putting this trip together. The trip has 36 members joining with a couple friends meeting up along the way and includes four days of optional excursions to Liechenstein, Lucerne, St. Moritz, and Zurich. It is sure to be a great trip!
Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, April 2nd. This will be our third and final general meeting for our elected board positions, followed by our elections. We will also be having a free pizza party following the elections. Currently we have Phil Wegrzyn nominated and accepted for President, Phil Skultety nominated and accepted for Vice President, Dave Breyer nominated and accepted as Executive Secretary, Kathy Mitchell nominated and accepted as Lodge President, and Jackie Uznanski nominated for Treasurer. Currently Jackie has not been able to either decline or accept the treasurer position.
In addition to the above positions for the elected board we do have many appointed board positions so if you have some time and energy the club could use your support and input. It is important to have new ideas and members stepping up to contribute their efforts. Please strongly consider stepping up and becoming a board member of our fine club. You will help shape the clubs future and the trips and social activities that the club participates in. Anyone interested in joining our board please let a current board member know. It is a great way to give back to the club and also help make decisions on the direction of future club events and trips.
In terms of upcoming social activities the club will be attending a Black Hawks watch party on Wednesday, April 3rd in Addison at Pyramid Sports Bar starting at 6pm. Plans for the Spring Banquet have also been finalized. The banquet will be held at Sawa’s Old Warsaw Restaurant at 9200 W Cermak Rd in Broadview, Illinois from noon until 3pm. Payments for the Spring Banquet are already being accepted and they can be made online or by check. Please see the website for details. A Cancer Walk will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Maggie Daley Park with registration at 9am and the walk starting at 10am. Other social activities are also being planned as well. Keep an eye out for further correspondence and updates on our website on these events as well as others.
Once again, our hearts go out to the Uznanski family on the passing of Bill Uznanski. He was the husband to Nancy, father to Jackie, and brother in law to Jack. He will be deeply missed and our deepest sympathies go out to the entire Uznanski family, relatives, and friends.
That is about it for now. Enjoy the rest of your SnowTimes Newsletter. Hopefully you can join on one of the upcoming trips, general meetings, and/or social events.
Russ (Prez: Four Winds Ski, Ride & Socialize Club)
