Prez Says

 Hi All,

March already, time just flies! 

Our ski season is still going strong.  We have many members on a Chicago CMSC Trip to Aspen and I am sure they are having a wonderful time.  The lodge just had a trip that completed this past weekend with a dozen participants.  Thank you to Pat and Kathy for running this wonderful trip.  An article with some pictures is provided separately about the lodge trip.  Coming up in less than a month is the Davos, Switzerland trip that Sheri has been very busy putting together.  This trip has 36 members joining with a couple friends meeting up along the way.

As our ski season continues we are also turning our focus to upcoming social activities.  We just had our pre-Mardi Gras/Davos party that was open to all club members.  We had a very nice turnout of about 18 people.  We talked some about the Davos trip, played Bingo that was being held at Alumni Club that evening, and feasted on appetizers and beverages while participating in some great conversation.  We plan on doing another bar bingo again in the future as it was very popular.

Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, March 5th.  During this general meeting we will be having our second meeting of nominations for our elected board positions.  We have had many board members contributing their time and energy for quite some time.  It is important to have new ideas and members stepping up to contribute their efforts.  Please strongly consider stepping up and becoming a member of our fine club.  You will help shape the clubs future and the trips and social activities that the club participates in.  Anyone interested in joining our board please let a current board member know.  It is a great way to give back to the club and also help make decisions on the direction of future club events and trips.

In terms of upcoming social activities the club will be attending a Black Hawks watch party on Wednesday, April 3rd in Addison at Pyramid Sports Bar starting at 6pm.  Plans for the Spring Banquet have also been finalized.  The banquet will be held at Sawa’s Old Warsaw Restaurant at 9200 W Cermak Rd in Broadview, Illinois from noon until 3pm.  A Cancer Walk will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Maggie Daley Park with registration at 9am and the walk starting at 10am.   Other social activities are also being planned as well.  Keep an eye out for further correspondence and updates on our website on these events as well as others.
