Prez Says
Hi All,
Where has the time gone? Thanksgiving has come and gone and the holidays with all the shopping, music, commercials, and holiday lights and displays are out in full display. The snow and cold has already arrived and our trips are quickly approaching so get those skis waxed and your gear checked out and ready to go!
Our last meeting was our meet and greet. We had a great turnout with many new people coming out to check out our club as well as many prior members coming back to say hi and do the same. We also had a great turnout from our current members. We had a very busy meeting with raffle prizes being given out, a very entertaining talk by Rick Pasturczak from Alpine Accessories, an update on our trips and upcoming social activities, and of course free pizza! I would estimate that we had between 50 to 60 people attend our meet and greet as we scrambled to find chairs for all. It all ended up working out wonderfully. Please be sure to go out and see Rick at Alpine Accessories and as he mentioned any member of Four Winds will receive a 10% discount.
Last month we also had our Black Hawks outing in early November and went to Draft Picks to watch some football. That was originally meant to be to watch the Bears vs Vikings but that game was flexed to the evening. It was still a fun event to catch up with friends and enjoy some wonderful food.
Our next general meeting will be on Tuesday, December 4th at 7pm at Riccardo’s Restaurant. For those on the Davos trip the final payments are due at that meeting so please have any money that you owe ready to turn in at that meeting including for any optional trips that are being offered. Any money owed for our other trips to Afton Alps, Granite Peak, Cascade, and the Lodge please be sure to be up to date on those payments as well. Our hope is for all to enjoy the holiday party rather than working on collecting payments for trips so we hope all will provide any payments at the general meeting. Details of all of these trips can be found on our website.
Our holiday party will be on Friday, December 7th at Church Street starting at 6pm, a few days after the general meeting. Please let Pat Clark if you plan on attending, how many, and what you plan to bring. There is also going to be a white elephant gift exchange, a 50/50 split the pot for the Sea Wasp Adaptive Program where CMSC will match all club donations up to $2500 in total, and we also will have a Toys for Tots toy drive as well. It is sure to be a great night of fun, festivities, and food!
Typically we meet on the first Tuesday of every month for our general meetings. January 1st however is the first Tuesday so we will push back our general meeting to Tuesday, January 8th at Riccardo’s Restaurant instead.
We are also planning an outing to see the Wolves on Saturday, February 2nd. If you have interest in this event please contact Kathy Mitchell as we have only a limited number of tickets and this often sells out quickly.
Keep an eye out for further correspondence and updates on our website on these events as well as other upcoming events.
That is about it for now. Enjoy the rest of your SnowTimes Newsletter. Hopefully you can join us at our holiday party or one of our other social events, trips, and/or one of our upcoming general meetings.
