Prez Says

Hi Everyone,

Hey, what do you know…it’s summer! Memorial weekend is on its way as I put fingers to keyboard. I am looking forward to plenty of warm nights outside playing volleyball, listening to music, or just spending time with friends. Pat Clark has a lot of ideas for summer fun events starting with an Escape Room on June 24th. Keep an eye on your upcoming SnowTimes newsletters and also on the website for details on this and other future events.

We had our board meeting last night and made some decisions in terms of our future meeting location and day that we meet. Unfortunately we reached a breaking point with Real Time after being bumped several times without being notified and have decided to now meet starting at the August general meeting at Riccardo's Restaurant which is located at 1170 S Roselle Rd in Schaumburg. After asking the membership at the April general meeting and discussing with the board at the recent meeting it was decided to switch our general meeting night from Thursday to Tuesday. Starting in August all future general meetings will be at Riccardo’s Restaurant on Tuesdays. Based on the above decisions here is a recap of what will be occurring going forward:

June: Final Real Time Sports General Meeting – Thursday, June 7th, 2018 at 7pm
July: No July General Meeting!
August: First Riccardo’s Restaurant Meeting – Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at 7pm

What else, well of course volleyball starts up in June. Our first volleyball outing will be on Monday, June 11th. Typically volleyball starts the first Monday of June which would be the 4th but due to scheduling conflicts we will be starting on June 11th. We do plan to have a cookout so bring a dish to share and an entrée for yourself for the grill.

I would like to thank Pat Mitchell, Kathy Mitchell, and Evanna Shopoff for going with me to the CMSC Trip Seminar. We met with many vendors and trip operators to get a handle on possible locations for the upcoming winter season. Candace will be leading the effort to put this all together and soon enough we will be announcing trips for the upcoming winter season.

Once again remember that volleyball will on Monday, June 11th and it will be at the Busse Woods pavilion since we will also be doing a cookout. Volleyball will run every Monday from June 11th through Monday, August 27th. Keep an eye on future events and remember our final general meeting at Real Time Sports will be Thursday, June 7th, no general meeting in July, and our first general meeting at Riccardo’s Restaurant will be Tuesday, August 7th.
