Yo! The big event was the Chicago Cubs vs. the Toronto Blue Jays Sunday August 20th, 1:20 PM, and there were several ways of getting to Wrigley Field in Chicago. Your writer, for example, chose to drive to the free parking lot at Rockwell & Irving Park, then board the shuttle bus (also free) to the ballpark stop, where it was only a short walk to the Wrigleyville Rooftops on Sheffield. Our prepaid entry price eliminated the game ticket. Instead, from a list, building staff issued each visitor a lanyard with credentials entitling him or her to admission and unlimited free food, soft drinks, beer and wine. An elevator took fans to the third floor where a stairway led to the roof and bleachers.
The bleachers seated over 200 paid spectators according to Mary Kreinbring, CMSC Rooftop Event Chair, and Patrick Clark (club liaison with CMSC) was responsible for getting about twenty or more of us Four Winders and guests to attend the event. And no kidding, we all had a good time, enjoyed the balmy weather, and were treated to the annual Chicago Air and Water Show overhead, and to an unusually tight ballgame-ending play resulting in a walk-off win score of Cubs 6, Blue Jays 5, for ten innings. See all of you there next year!
By the way - all attendees are identified only by their first names plus initial, due to a recent naming rule change. The "¶¶" is a reading separator between title & caption. Now for the photos.
