Hi Everyone,

Ah, autumn. You can just feel and see the season changing from the cooler nights and the leaves starting to change color and fall to the ground. Summer has just flown by and as you read this we are now in the month of September. The final volleyball night and end of season cookout was held on Monday, August 28th. Plenty of food for all for sure. In addition, the CMSC Picnic was held on Saturday, August 26th with plenty of food, games, and ski jumping for all to enjoy. Many of us even climbed up the 90-meter ski jump to see the view and experience the view a bit of what these jumpers see prior to their jump. That was quite a sight. Those who made it had a great time with plenty of games and food. If you were unable to join hopefully you will make it to the next Four Winds or CMSC outing.

Our next general meeting will be Thursday, September 7th. We have been busy putting together our trips for this upcoming winter and plan to have our trip opening at the upcoming September general meeting. Just a reminder that in order to sign up for a trip you must be a member of the club and you can get early bird pricing and save $5 off the normal membership pricing by signing up at or before the September general meeting.

Coming up for social we will be having a bike ride and bar of the month at Draft Picks to watch the Bears, Cubs, and White Sox. All three local Chicago teams will be playing that afternoon. Check out the details in this SnowTimes newsletter. Plenty of upcoming social outings are being planned including road watch parties, Halloween outings, December holiday party and the list goes on so be sure to keep an eye out for those.

In addition coming up October 20th – 22nd is the ski show. This provides our club with exposure to potential new members and allows our club the opportunity to show off our wonderful club, trips, and lodge. We really would like to make our booth someplace that people would want to gravitate towards so on September 11th we have scheduled a planning meeting. If you are interested in attending the planning meeting that evening please contact Sheri Butler or me for additional information. We, of course, will also need friendly, energetic volunteers to be at our booth to help promote our club so if you are interested in that please let one of your board members know that as well.
