It was a beautiful Sunday, June 28 at noon, when ten Four Winders
started out on their biking journey from East Dundee, and south down the Fox
River Trail. This was after the Skultety group picked up a nice rental
bike down the trail, and joined the lot.
In the mid-70s and sunny, the crew followed the river south about
seven miles through forest and trailside deer, down the riverside through
Elgin, past the Grand Victoria casino, to a turnaround point where the trail
takes a turn in South Elgin
Without incident (though we lost Dave Sh. for a short while he
stopped at the casino where he SAYS he had to fill his bike tires), the Four
Winders kicked it up on the way back to East Dundee, where our 11th
member Beth O. awaited us already partying at Bandito Barney’s outside beer
garden. After pulling her off the dance floor as she watched the band
“Screamin’ End”, we kicked together tables for our full group to get some cold
ones and a late lunch……
