Several of us from Four Winds met up at Chicago Travel and Adventure Show on Saturday January 21st  in Rosemont about 1:30pm.   We headed straight for the Travel Theater to grab our seats, to listen to Travel Smart: Lessons Learned from a Life Lived on the Road by World Traveler, Samantha Brown, Travel Channel Host .   Boy oh boy, does she know all the tips on traveling.   She's able to travel for a living and hosting a TV show, plus have her own website. 

 We learned many great tips when traveling, from packing a light suitcase to traveling with kids -7 Essential Family Travel Tips.       She also gave recommendations how to find unique places to visit off the beaten path away from the crowds /  normal tourist attractions in other countries.   Most of the time just a block off the main street you'll find some very unique reasonable shops from coffee, pastries, restaurants and gift shops.     She recommended be personable - connect with the people within these countries, you'll experience the most out of your trips from the local people.  There was a question / answer session that Samantha was able gave great advise to anyone that had a question.  That's a picture of her below.

After the tips program, we all broke up into groups to browse the show booths with trip deals and brochures.   Visited  the CMSC booth to thank them for the free tickets to the show, they were glad to see the Four Winds Club come out to the show.    Guess Walter, Kathleen and Ron had other idea's.....riding the camel.   See the photo, attached.

Then around 4pm, we all headed over to Adobe Gila's for Mexican flare of food and beverages.  It was a fun day, a must for next year for sure.
