Prez Says

 Hi All,

Well fall is officially upon us.  The leaves are changing colors, the temperatures are cooling off, and our trips are all now open.  Our trips officially opened at the general meeting in September with trips to Afton Alps, Granite Peak, Cascade, the Lodge, and Davos being announced.  We certainly hope that you decide to sign up for one or more of these trips.  Details of these trips can be found on our website.

We had a club bike ride along the Fox River starting in South Elgin on September 15^th.  It was very well attended on a beautiful sunny, warm, summer day.  The bike ride was for about 20 miles roundtrip with a stop for a nice lunch.  An article on this event will be in this SnowTimes issue. 

Our lodge work weekend is quickly approaching.  We will be doing plenty of work to get the lodge ready for the upcoming winter months.  The lodge workers weekend will be October 12^th to 14^th.  If you have some time to volunteer to help on the workers weekend please contact one of your board members for details.

Coming up in October we will once again be attending the ski show October 19^th to 21^st.  If you have any interest in volunteering to help promote our fine club please contact Pat Clark.  We will also be having a new members meet and greet with free pizza at our general meeting on Tuesday, November 6^th.    

In addition we will be having a Bears watch party at Draft Picks on Sunday, November 18^th.  Time really flies by as we are already finalizing plans for our holiday party.  Our most likely date for the holiday party is Friday, December 7^th.  Keep an eye out for further correspondence and updates on our website on these events as well as other upcoming events.

We are also planning an outing to see the Wolves in February.  If you have interest in this event please contact Kathy Mitchell as we have only a limited number of tickets and this often sells out quickly.

As usual our next general meeting will be the October 2^nd which is the first Tuesday of October.  This will of course be at Riccardo’s Restaurant starting at 7pm as usual.
