Weekend Camping and biking trip to Middlebury, IN at KOA camp ground.

BIKING:  WE HAVE A NUMBER OF DISTANCES YOU CAN BIKE, FROM TEN (10) MILES TO FIFTY (50) miles.  YOUR BIKING WILL BE ON Six (6) road and trail routes. you will share with auto vehicles, horse drawn Amish buggies and bikers. Paved and packed gravel roads and trails. Great country sightseeing, from quilt patterns painted on their barns, cattle in the field, fields of wild flowers. If you bike the trails and roads from one end to the other you will enter three (3) towns.

Middlebury; this is the town that is in the middle of the abandoned Pumpkinvine railroad corridor. Which we will be biking. The camp grounds is four (4) miles from this starting point. In Middlebury is the Krider world fair garden, a must see place, 30 + varieties of pies @ Das Dutchman Essenhas, Varns and Hoovers hardware store, serving five (5) generations.   A possible summer fest this weekend.

Shipshewana; is the eastern end of the trail, this is the heart of the Amish country. You can bike around and see the furniture, quilting, bakery stores and natural food restaurants. You have to try their ice cream.

Goshen; is the western end of the trail, 11.5 miles from Middlebury.  Try to see the main street candy kitchen, great stuff, find the old fashion south side soda shop, Amish furniture outlet, Sanders music hall; and the old bag factory.
