Prez Says
Hi Everyone,
Well spring seems to be finally arriving. As I write this our spring banquet is just a few days away. Our spring banquet is often a chance to recap the prior year of skiing, enjoy some great food, catch up with friends, and look forward to upcoming summer activities as we also look to the ski season next year. Our prior ski season will be tough to beat but we will certainly try. Really the trips are a success because of our trip director, trip leaders, and of course the wonderful members who join us on the trips.
Our new board is now in place and ready for action! I would of course like to thank my entire board from last year and also thank in advance my new board. The following individuals are continuing on in their same role as last year: Phil Skultety as Vice President; Jackie Uznanski as Treasurer; Dave Breyer as Executive Secretary; Kathy Mitchell as Lodge President; Phil Wegrzyn as Communications; Gregg Schuring as Newsletter; Tony Zasadney as Public Relations; and Candace Skultety as Trip Director. My thanks to all of them for continuing on for another year. Sheri Butler and Patrick Clark have switched roles with Sheri taking on membership while Patrick takes on Social. We also finally have been fortunate to add Beth O’Brien as Sargent of Arms which was an open position the prior year. Thank you once again to you all for all of your help and support in the past and also in advance for your future help and support.
Recently a trip survey was sent out to all of our members so hopefully you had a chance to respond to the survey. We certainly look at the results of this survey when we are considering the trips for the next season. Several board members will be going to the upcoming trip seminar hosted by CMSC on May 19th to look into ideas for next years trips.
Our next general meeting will be May 3rd, 2018 at Real Time Sports starting at 7pm. A couple items that the board is currently focused on is the upcoming trip seminar as we look into potential locations and trip ideas for next year. Another item that we are looking into is a new meeting location as we have been bumped several times at Real Time Sports without any notice. We have several locations under consideration but nothing has been decided on yet. We will keep you posted but for now our meetings will continue to be at Real Time Sports the first Thursday of the month for both May and June. Our July meeting would have been on July 5th so we have decided to cancel the July general meeting. If you have a suggestion for a possible new general meeting location please let someone on the board know.
Upcoming social activities are still in the works and will be announced once details have been decided upon. Volleyball will begin however in June but it will start on Monday, June 11th. That will be the volleyball kickoff which includes a barbeque. Volleyball will run every Monday from June 11th through Monday, August 27th.
