Co-Prez Says
Welcome to spring!!!! Hope you all had a wonderful winter and got a chance to enjoy some fun in the snow on one of our trips. If not this year hopefully next year. We have one last trip coming up and that will be the CMSC Aspen spring fling trip the week of April 1st to April 6th.
Our trip to Cascade in Wisconsin in early March was a great time. I put together a brief article on this trip for your reading and viewing pleasure. We also had a great time in Dundee for the St. Patrick’s Day event that Gregg helped to coordinate.
We continue to stay busy at Four Winds. We are have started the nomination process for our new board and nominations for the new board will continue at the next meeting on April 6th and upon completion of the nominations then elections will be held. We hope you can come out to the nomination/election night as we need a certain percentage of members to be present and to vote in order for the elections to be held and to be valid.
Our current slate of nominated board members are:
President – Russel Butler; Vice President- Phil Skultety; Executive Secretary – David Breyer; Treasurer – Jackie Uznanski; and Lodge President – Kathy Mitchell. We also have appointed positions on the board. Anyone who might be interested in a board positions whether it be for an elected position or an appointed position please let a current board member know. We welcome anyone who wishes to allocate some of their valuable time to helping our club become even a better one going forward.
We have completed our voting for the merged club by-laws and we are finishing up on some minor wording changes to the new by-laws for the lodge as well. We hope to obtain board approval on these updated lodge by-laws prior to the April general meeting so that we can present the new lodge by-laws and begin membership voting on this at the April general meeting.
What else could be going on coming up? Well did I mention that we have a Blackhawks Road Watch Rally on April 4th? Well now I have. Come on out and help root the Blackhawks to victory!
Finally our spring banquet will be held on Sunday, April 23rd. It will be at Pinstripes in Barrington. There will be plenty to eat and bocce ball and bowling as well. It’s a great chance to catch up with old friends, play some games, have some great food, and meet the old board and say hi to the new board.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming road watch party on April 4th, the general meeting on April 6th, and/or at the upcoming Spring Banquet on April 23rd. If you are unable to make any of these then hopefully some other meeting or social event in the near future.
