Irish I was in DUbliNDEE St. Patrick's Day Celebration

Awesome time with fellow Four Winder's on March 11th at the DUbliNDEE parade, big wheel races and shamrock pub crawl.

The Butler family; Russ, Sheri, Natalie and Diane arrived at Gregg Schuring's house dressed like they were headed for the ski slopes.  Weather was pretty cold, but when the sun came out it was tolerable.   Gregg supplied everyone with a touch of extra shamrock green apparel,  top hats for the guys and funky shamrock head pieces for the gals along with shamrock bead necklaces and our Four Winds lime green bandanna's to tie on legs or arms or use for scarfs .

Due to the cold temperatures, we decided not to walk to the St. Patrick's events.  We piled into Russ Butler's van and drove a short distance to get our spot along the parade route out of the northerly winds.    Ron Herrmann and Kathleen Stoneski met us in East Dundee by the Fox River bike trail to view the 80 units for the hour long parade.

After the parade, we all headed over to River Lee's Pub for a quick $3 burger, some beverages  and to warm up for the next event.   Then we headed over to West Dundee's events big wheel races sponsored by Emmett's Brewing.   Our fellow Four Winder's; Bob and Bobbi Mickow met us there.  It was a fun event, seeing all the St. Paddy's dressed adults race down a two block steep hill racing on their Big Wheel's to the finishing line.    Emmett's had large screen that broadcasting the race using a fly over drone due to crowds of people watching the races.     Afterwards we headed inside Emmett's for some Irish fare!

On Friday March 17th - St. Patrick's Day evening we watched the most AWESOME fireworks show over the Fox River sponsored by Bandito Barney's of East Dundee.   The sky and river had sparkles and twinkles for the most power packed awesomeness you have ever seen.   Fireworks kick off with the fabulous Dundee Scot's Bagpipes on either end of the bridge.  Check out the fireworks  video link below.

It will be a night we'll never forget!!
